Client: Womp TV
Project: BASE ep.03
Description: Womp TV approached me about an ambition of theirs to develop their own original web series. The premise for the show was a sit down studio interview show with American Bass Music producers to discuss the influential roots of their music. I worked closely with them during the creative process and worked out the logistics of production. I created the title package, color tone, and logo for the show.
I wanted the show’s title to reflect music production but, I did not have access to a music studio. I got my hands on a synthesizer with various trigger pads, knobs, set it up on a lazy susan and filmes macro close ups while it rotated. I edited together a montage of the clips, color corrected the footage, and add glitch effects to the music. I created a 3D animation of the logotype and added it the the montage. The package was lacking unity so, I created an element out of the logo animation in which I used for the Lower 3rd and credits. This unifies the show from beginning to end. In addition to the graphics I also handeld all the video production as well. I Set up the set with all the lights, camera, and microphone.

ASE Volume 3 features Lukeino, owner of Sublife Recordings and the newest member of the infamous Bachelors of Science. Womp TV flew up to San Francisco and visited Sublife Recordings’ headquarters on a gorgeous sunny morning by the waterfront. Lukeino hooked us up with a Dutch breakfast of coffee and herb then sat down with us on camera to talk about his sound and production process.
“I don’t consider myself a DJ.” -Lukeino
Womp TV asked Lukeino questions like why he started Sublife Recordings and the process of doing so. The interview rolled into his creative process of his smooth bass roller sound. He has put out over 8 releases in the past two years and 1 vinyl under the Sublife Brand. His track “The Key” has been featured on Crissy Criss’ show on BBC extra. His latest release is Sublife’s first EP “Crackatoa” that he co-produced with dubstep artist Jamal featuring Calculon and Sinistarr. Sit back and enjoy the sounds of the Bay Area’s smoothest sexiest bassline boss, LUKEINO!
